If you have been reading this blog for a long time you might remember there was a time that I would post a lot of articles in a single day.
But I have not been doing that for a while now. The reasons for that are:
It takes a lot more time and effort than you think to find an article, format it, categorize, and post it. Don’t even get me started about the time I spend going to local libraries so I can access the academic articles you won’t find anywhere else, that then have to be saved to a special online server, so I can have a permanent link, which I can then post here.
And then there is time I spend on Twitter, posting the links of what I post here over there.
There was a time when I was willing to do all this just because I wanted to bring some dispassionate light to the private military and security contracting industry.
I am still willing to do it but there is only so much I am willing to do on my own, for readers who don’t acknowledge the effort by contributing so much as a penny in support.
Plus, I have a lot less free time than I had previously.
So here is what I am doing. I commit to trying to post ten articles a day, Monday through Friday. That is 50 a week. If I miss a day then I will make it up during subsequent days, or, on the weekend, as I have been doing today.
If I get ahead of the goal, as I have done today, having just posted twenty articles, then I am free to skip posting a following day. For example, there won’t be any more postings until Tuesday, June 27.
Now, if people were to support this blog by contributing some financial contributions then maybe I’ll revisit this policy. But I’m not holding my breath anticipating that happening.
If this bothers you feel free to look elsewhere for what you find here. And good luck with that, LOL.
